Selected through State Level Entrance Test conducted by G.N.D.U., Amritsar

It is a great privilege and district honour for Khalsa College Public School, Amritsar to be selected as a centre for preparing the Top-50 rural based students of Punjab for admission to IIT under the project of Government of Punjab. The project which is a brain child of Prof. A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor G.N.D.U., Amritsar came into existence by the full support of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Prakash Singh Ji Badal, who consented to open a centre for rural students to crack IIT Entrance test along with regular classes of 11th and 12th. To implement the scheme, Progressive Educational Society, Amritsar has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Prof. A.S. Brar, Vice Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University. Khalsa College Public school was chosen to provide state of art facilities to these top meritorious poor students for regular studies of class 11th & 12th and special coaching to prepare them for cracking IIT Joint Entrance Exams. Here, the students are provided with free boarding, lodging, books, uniforms and other printed study materials along with quality education. An enthused, dedicated faculty takes care of the academic growth of the students under the guidance of our worthy Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Sarvjit Brar. It is matter of pride that these less privileged students from rural areas of Punjab who may not have even thought of doing +2 (Science) class would now be able to get admission in prestigious colleges in various engineering courses. Many of the students had already made their mark in IIT, BITS, VIT, AIEEE entrance examination. By doing so, these students could fulfil not only their dreams but also a dream saw by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Parkash Singh Badal to provide urban amenities to under privileged rural children for their better future.

Last year our students of +2 Super 50 batch 2011-12 have brought laurels to the school by displaying meritorious results in CBSE, AIEEE and various other entrance exams. Hardeep Kaur stood first by scoring 94.8% and has been honoured with the scholarship of Rs. 4 Lakh (80 thousand per year) from DST, Government of India to compete her higher education in Pure Sciences and Research under the Inspire Scheme. Most of our students have been selected in Top Professional Colleges under various Universities as well as in Professional Govt. Colleges.

This year (2012-13 session) Jagdeep Singh and Ajaypal Singh topped the school by getting 93% in PCM. They both secured 95 in Maths, 95 in Chemistry and 89 in Physics.

This project of Super-50 is being appreciated throughout Punjab, especially the people of rural background are admiring the project and making a plea for implementing Super-100 project for the next coming sessions, so that more aspiring and deserving students can get benefit from this project.
